Brooks & Day have released an alternate mix of their instrumental song, “Oneness.” The original version appears on their second album, “Awakening.” This streamlined version, released as a single, embraces the song’s simplicity and meditative quality.
“When Ben and I recorded the basic tracks — the flute and guitar — we were really in the zone and never strayed,” says Peter Day. “Afterward we were really surprised at where the muse took us.”
“Oneness” starts slowly and gently, but it gradually gets more intense until the song bursts into a spirited and passionate climax. The production is enhanced with some tasty additions by both Ben and Peter after the initial recording in Ben’s Rock Room Studio in Pasadena, California.
